The performance entitled « THE LAST FAREWELL TO REST » offers a poignant critique of migratory journeys at sea. Combining media images and stories, it highlights the struggles and dignity of migrants seeking a better future.
The central gesture, that of a young migrant, Mohamed, waving a flag at sea, symbolises this approach.
Adopting a decolonial and epistemological perspective, the work challenges the representation of the migrant as a vehicle for questioning dominant powers and narratives, transcending barriers to encourage collective reflection on our common humanity.
Halida Boughriet affirms the value of migrants and calls for a collective commitment so that each story contributes to enriching our shared culture.
