  Ruine, Part 1, Gradishte, 2020 ©halidaboughriet Photography, concrete blocks, sound When the Globe is Home Treviso, 3rd July / 29th November 2020 To communicate humanity’s ancestral and instinctive need to transform even the least welcoming space imaginable – a forced labour camp in Albania during the dictatorship – into a liveable andpersonal environment, Halida Boughriet, a French artist of Algerian descent, created Ruine I, Gradishte for Gallerie delle Prigioni, an installation composed of concrete blocks and a series of photographs and portraits of people confined to this place of punishment. The work includes the voice of a woman who lived in Gradishte until the age of 17 and who continues to view it as the home of her childhood and adolescence. Ruine attempts to reinvent the notion of living in a closed and isolated space. The place of reference is a forced-labor concentration camp built in the 1950s in Gradishte, Albania, where thousands of deportees and downgraded citizens of the former autocratic Albanian communist regime were forced to live for decades.   IMPLANO DE ARISANA,  2018-2019 –6–channel video installation, HD video, colour, sound, 17 min Biennale de Rabat , « Un instant avant le monde » DU 24 SEPTEMBRE AU 18 DÉCEMBRE 2019 https://www.biennale.ma/portfolio-item/halida-boughriet/#exhibitions   Implano de Arisana» est un dispositif vidéographique qui aborde les questions de l’identité, du territoire et de la frontière, mais aussi la figure féminine « le mythe d’Ariane abandonnée». Considérée comme un quartier difficile, tant par son histoire que par sa population, l’Ariane est profondément isolée par le Paillon, ligne de démarcation constituant la frontière symbolique entre ce territoire et le centre-ville de Nice. Mon désir était de filmer ce quartier populaire, de le regarder autrement.  A commencer par la rencontre humaine et chaleureuse de quelques femmes qui y vivent et qui sont devenues l’axe central de mon travail.   Par une esthétique du geste, je traverse les plans architecturaux  datant de 1970 vers des personnages qualifiés de déesses. Ces femmes se font surtout l’expression collective d’une forme d’identité revendiquée et d’ouverture. J’utilise essentiellement la décomposition du temps pour donner à voir les corps en action lors de leur performance. La lumière apporte de l’intensité dramatique à la scène. Implano de Arisana, 2018/ 2019 HD, 16/9 Installation for 6 projections with sound. © Halida Boughriet   « Implano de Arisana » is large-scale public installation, the artist halida Boughriet will explorate public space while evoking voices of womens and stories from submerged and forgotten persons, histories and cultures, from the Ariane quarter. Le cours du fleuve du Paillon, conduit naturellement au quartier nord de l’Ariane. L’artiste Halida Boughriet a été invitée à y résider pour produire une œuvre à partir de sa rencontre avec ce territoire. Elle a mis en place un protocole associant mise en scène et immersion documentaire, accompagnée dans sa découverte des lieux par des associations locales et par le regard individuel de six femmes. Elle les a filmées dans des situations communes tout en récoltant des bribes de leurs vies individuelles : des récits, un poème ou un morceau de piano. Dans une approche sensible des abords du Paillon et de l’urbanisme de l’Ariane, la caméra fixe des images trouvées sur le chemin, baignées de la douceur de la lumière d’été, révélant la poésie des lieux mais aussi les multiples fissures sociales qui les traversent.
